I am very fortunate to live with my passion daily. Sharing my experience and knowledge about horses with people who want to learn is one of the greatest joys of my life. I have just finished teaching a several great courses and had a blast doing it! People learned, horses improved and everyone had a great time.
One of the greatest AHA’s was – “It’s not about me, it IS about my horse!” One of the ladies came to this realization in the last class of the Advancing Communication Course. She had been struggling as she was learning, feeling like she had yet again let go of what she knew to learn something new, that these basic steps were different than what she had done previously, etc. Then, like a light bulb went off in her head, she realized that she was bringing along a young horse and she had never done that before. She realized that she had to change herself to help accommodate her horse’s learning. Even though the others in the class did not have young horses, the could relate and found the AHA to be just what they needed to hear! Everyone, including the horses, was happy and more open to trying new things!
Teaching these courses, and being present while people learn, digest, process, have AHA’s, and advance is such a pleasure for me. I love it when people “get” concepts and ideas. It truly is one of my greatest joys, and I think the photo shows it! Thanks to Laurie Fix for capturing the special moments of our events!
