A friend recently loaned me a book called 29 Gifts. I am not sure if you have ever heard of it or read it, but I highly recommend reading it! It tells the story of a woman with MS who changes her attitude and life through the simple act of intentional giving! www.29Gifts.org
I have decided to try this and I began today. I gave a friend who is suffering with early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer a bouquet of sunflowers and a chocolate cake. In my mind, what flowers don’t fix, chocolate does! What chocolate can’t fix, God can…so with that gift I said a prayer for her, her speedy recovery and her family!
Then I thought, how else could I give back…my life is pretty much horses, horses, horses! Then I thought of Buck Brannaman. With the release of his movie a year ago this month, I have been reading and loving his one liners that are put on facebook about once a week….and it hit me “horses and life, they are all the same to me”! Buck says that all the time and it is true…so I thought it would be fun to quote a Buckism a day on my blog and share it with you as a gift! I have collected lots of his quotes over the years and enjoy reading them.
So for today, I share, “Horses and life, they are all the same to me.” This holds true for me! How I treat horses is how I treat people. In all relationships (animals and people) I try hard to follow the four agreements that I teach in my Enhancing the Relationship course, modified from Ruiz:
1) Be impeccable with your word.
2) Don’t take it personal.
3) Don’t make assumptions.
4) Always do your best.
Are horses and life the same for you?
