Obstacles Over View:
One of our most popular workshops! Obstacles Clinic is a two-hour clinic that begins with groundwork, followed by riding. Get a refresher for the AHA Challenge. Learn a skill set for increasing confidence in even the most skittish horse! It is phenomenal to watch horses grow in bravery as riders improve their communication and leadership skills. There are new and different obstacles at every clinic. Build your horse’s confidence on the ground using obstacles of all kinds. Learn how to safely introduce new things with your horse or work thru troubles with known obstacle challenges. This clinic is open to horses of all levels.
Who is it for? Adults of all levels and disciplines, including young horses or beginning riders/horse handlers. Your horse doesn’t even need to be started under saddle for this class; you can participate on foot or while riding.
What problems does it solve?
Spooking, shying, lack of confidence, and trail sour behavior. Riders learn techniques such as Approach, Retreat, Move the Feet;
One-Line Driving; and Protecting your Space, and concepts like Respecting Thresholds, Borrowing Confidence,
and Rewarding a Quiet Mind.
