The concept of the day was “Get to the Feet”. The idea is easy, talk to the feet and you will get to your horse’s mind.
Connectivity with horses is developed by clear communication and can be easily evaluated in asking “who moves whose feet?”
Having a clear separation between talking to the hind feet and talking to the front feet is critical in developing softness, suppleness and responsiveness.
Having an effective hind quarter yield in place is the foundational key.
Knowing the rein angles and consistently using them helps develop that great partnership we are working towards!
Today was another great day! Watching people gain knowledge and apply principles is so much fun!
I love watching the horses shift and connect more with their riders.
In one of our interactive, Jean Marquand and Thalia Stoddard learned about how it feels for the horse in the bridle. In the video short below, they share difference they felt between the one-rein stop and the two-rein stop.
