So it took me a little longer this year to come up with my words.
Drum Roll Please
Gratitude & Grace (with humor)
For years I have tried things to improve my ability to be grateful. It seems so easy, but for some reason it has been hard for me. I say thank you and I know I am blessed, but for some reason I have not felt I am nearly as grateful as I could/should be! But this year, a shift has happened for me and I can say that gratitude is coming easier. When I complain, I stop myself and say out loud, “Thank you for _______, and forgive me for complaining!”
Grace is a new word for me. It is how I want to be with horses and in the world, full of grace. As a noun, grace means “Seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement, form, or proportion.” As a verb it means
- 1. To honor or favor. (You grace our table with your presence.)
- 2. To give beauty, elegance, or charm to.
It is a magical word and covers much of the unspoken way I hope to be seen by my horses and people too.
And I added Humor cause I know I need to laugh more. I have started finding places to laugh while I ride and work with my horses and it has added so much to my time with them!
I look forward to focusing throughout the year on Gratitude & Grace (with humor)! I hope you have your words for the year! Drop me an email and let me know how you are doing!
