In this 2 hour groundwork clinic, learn powerful techniques for teaching your horse the posture he needs for many years of sound and comfortable work under saddle. Work your way up the training scale: rhythm, relaxation, connection, impulsion, straightness, and collection without the use of mechanical aids!
Who is this class for? Adults of all levels and disciplines who would like to improve their horse’s way of going, begin dressage training, or take basic groundwork to the next level. Horses do not have to be under saddle yet.
What problems does it solve? When practiced over time, these exercises can fix lack of balance/tripping, poor quality or rough gaits, undeveloped or uneven muscle tone, stiffness or lack of lateral flexibility, bracing, defensiveness, or tension. Teach longitudinal stretching and suppleness while promoting relaxation, softness, and mental focus.
This is a groundwork only (no riding) course appropriate for adults of all levels and disciplines, including young horses or beginning riders/horse handlers. If you don’t own a horse and you would like to participate, please contact us for the option to borrow a horse or audit.
Bring: Your horse, rope halter & 15′ rope (can be purchased onsite or online). Bring your tack, we will work saddled even though we won’t ride. Clothes and footwear suitable for groundwork.
